STRATIS Wins OPTECH’s Launch Pad Competition, A Top Honor In Multifamily and Technology

STRATIS Announces 175,000 Internet of Things Installed Apartments Across the U.S.

Philadelphia, P.A.
STRATIS, the leading software platform for smart apartments and intelligent buildings, took home the National Multifamily Housing Council’s (NMHC) top honor by winning the 2017 Launch Pad competition at the OPTECH Convention & Exposition held in Las Vegas last week. STRATIS simultaneously announced the successful installation of their Internet of Things (IoT) SaaS Platform in 175,000 units across the U.S.

NMHC’s OPTECH Launch Pad is the event for technology innovators in the Multifamily Industry,” Felicite Moorman, CEO of STRATIS said. “One of my goals the last three years has been to present on this stage and share what the phenomenal Team at STRATIS has accomplished. Getting to that stage is an affirmation of our strategy and a serious win. Actually winning still feels a little surreal. It’s an incredible honor.”

Moorman announced on stage that STRATIS has earmarked the prize money to go towards projects in hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico.

“STRATIS is a triple-bottom line company, with an environmental and social mission in addition to our fiscal goals. We are contributing the proceeds from the win to rebuilding Puerto Rico, smart,” she said. “As individuals, many of us have made our own contributions, but how to help on a larger scale is a constant conversation at STRATIS.”

STRATIS continues at a strong growth trajectory.

“The tremendous growth of our install rate, in a relatively short period of time, has been sensational and has caught the interest of many venture capitalists and partnering technology companies,” Moorman said. “STRATIS just crossed another major milestone by installing 175,000 IoT-enabled apartment units. This announcement comes just months after announcing our 150,000th IoT installation. This is an unprecedented rate of adoption and we expect to accelerate that rate with several partnerships currently in development.”

STRATIS works with a large catalog of smart hardware devices to enable access, energy, and automation management and control throughout individual units and common areas of buildings.

“We are currently installed in 700 properties in more than 40 states in multifamily and student housing, and are partnering with hardware companies like Schlage, GE, Leviton, Honeywell, and more,” Moorman said. “Our service provider partners include multiple Fortune 10 companies. And our property partners include Greystar, Bozzuto, American Campus Communities, Campus Apartments, Lennar, Mill Creek, TCR, and more. We standardized nationwide on three portfolios last quarter.”

BI Intelligence, estimates 4 billion IoT devices were installed in 2015, and expects more than 24 billion IoT devices to be installed by 2020, which represents a 41% five-year CAGR. A hot industry like IoT for Multifamily, attracts a lot of competitors who are eager to grab a foothold in the market.

“Our focus is on return on investment for the property owner or manager, with the resident as natural beneficiary,” Moorman said. “Our platform actually increases the valuation of the multifamily property portfolio, by decreasing the net operating costs -without raising rents. We offer the only platform providing collaborative control, between property manager and resident, of IoT devices.”

The STRATIS Management App saves property managers time and money by providing a comprehensive, yet easy to navigate dashboard. Energy savings are enabled by controlling vacant unit’s energy, giving property managers more management and control data analytics. The STRATIS Mobile App was developed for multifamily residents and is available for Android and IOS. Properties purchase the mobile app property-wide, providing smart home technology to residents.
